Vertical coal mill application
Coal mill is also called vertical coal mill. SBM vertical mill not only includes vertical coal mill , but also includes vertical ore mill. The coal mills are becoming necessary and essential grinding equipment. Apart from vertical coal mill, SBM has also produced lots of other coal grinding mills, such as high pressure suspension grinding mill, MTM trapezium grinding mill, etc.

Coal mill operation process
The temperatures of the primary carrier gas supplied to a coal mill and the fuel stream discharged from the coal pulverizer are controlled to keep the fuel stream temperature within a predetermined safe and efficient operating range regardless of the rate at which coal is fed to the coal pulverizer. A carrier gas temperature versus coal feed schedule is established and used for temperature control. If fuel stream temperature departs from the predetermined operating range, the established schedule is automatically corrected.

Coal mill design and coal mill maintenance
If the coal mill stops for 3 days, empty the coal hopper or put a layer of raw meat powder on the surface to isolate the coal from the oxygen before stopping the coal pulverizer. Close the hot wind valve and open the close wind valve and then stop the feeding. Do remember to empty the coal in the coal mills before stopping the machine and not to stop the collector immediately .
Check the following things when operating the vertical coal mill: the airing is ok; there is no overfeeding or underfeeding; the temperature is not too high; the order of starting and stopping the coal mills is right; the temperature of the air from the coal mill is higher the dew point.
Make an emergency plan; when an explosion happens, close the hot wind valve and the pneumatic valve, prevent the hot coal powder enter the collector and if the temperature is over 80 degree centigrade, start the carbon dioxide extinguisher.
Pay attention to avoid safety problem in operating the coal pulverizer. As long as we obey the safety rules, the safety problems surely can be avoided.

Coal pulverizer working principles
The motor drives the grinding table through decelerator. The raw coal falls down the center of grinding table from feed opening. At the same time, hot air comes into the coal mill from the air inlet. Due to the centrifugal force, materials move to the edge of the grinding table. The raw coals are pulverized by the roller when pass the groove on the grinding table. The crushed coals are brought up by vane high-speed airstream, the larger particles fall down to the grinding table for regrinding. When the coal in the airstream passes the separator fixed on the top of the coal grinding mill, the coarse powder fall down the grinding table for regrinding under the function of rotation rotor. The fine powder comes out with the airstream, and is gathered by the dust catcher. The materials content with moisture will be dried when they meet the hot airstream. Through adjusting the temperature of the hot airstream, it can meet different material’s requirement, and also through adjusting separator, it can reach proper fineness of coals.
